How to make a thick film and stain it with Giemsa stain for the diagnosis of malarial infections. Compare with other Plasmodium spp. (research) and Plasmodium vivax (research) slides which have been prepared using different staining methods to determine the best method to diagnose the parasite infection. It is best to make the smears from native blood (ie. without anti-coagulant) as anticoagulant can distort the parasites. (method cont on slide 3.22)
